Work Nicer Coworking, Alberta’s number one coworking community, is opening its sixth outpost in Edmonton’s iconic Mercer Warehouse building in Fall 2022.
The second Edmonton outpost for Work Nicer, this new spot will provide a home for the city’s entrepreneurs to grow together and support each other through the hurdles of business.
Mercer Warehouse is an Edmonton institution, bang in the heart of YEG’s Heritage Area Zone. Located on 104 Street, it’s straight across the street from Rogers Place and neighbour to local favourites like Home & Away. Known for being a hub for YEG’s best entrepreneurs, smart thinkers and innovators, Mercer has already been home to communities like Startup Edmonton and Work Nicer couldn’t be more excited to continue building on that energy.
Work Nicer Mercer has some pretty cool stuff in the works! Heaps of coworking areas, private offices, event venues, and more – and boy is the team excited to share this with you. As with all other Work Nicer outposts, you’ll get 24/7 access, unlimited wifi and printing, amazing local coffee and beer on tap, and all of that good stuff. PLUS, access to the already awesome Mercer community, some of which will be sticking around for this new chapter.
Speaking on the announcement, Work Nicer’s Member & Founder, Alex Putici, said: “Work Nicer was created out of a desire for community, somewhere people with common interests could make connections and grow together. Since opening the first Edmonton Work Nicer, Beaver House, in 2019 and building the YEG community, it makes more sense than ever for this next step being a partnership with Mercer Warehouse.
“Everything about Mercer, from its connection to Edmonton’s entrepreneurial hub to its iconic location, calls to the community Work Nicer fosters every day. We just knew it was where Work Nicer needed to be. The team can’t wait to see what great ideas, businesses and connections emerge from this.”
Mercer Warehouse has a rich history of being a space of tech and innovation. When Gather Co. revitalized the long-time underused space in 2012, this was their hope and vision for its future. Devin and Gather Co. are very enthusiastic about getting Work Nicer into the fold and continuing to build a hub for some of the great minds of Edmonton.
“We are very excited about this new partnership with Work Nicer and can’t wait to get them settled in. They are the perfect fit for us and will continue to fuel our mission of being a haven for entrepreneurs. We’ve had many great companies emerge from our previous partnership with Startup, including Poppy Barley and DrugBank, and we are anticipating greater success and growth through Work Nicer’s commitment to community,” says Devin Pope, Partner at Gather Co.
